LWV Candidate Forums in May

Chico City Council Chambers, 7-9 pm
Join the League and our co-sponsor, the Chico Enterprise-Record at the Chico City Council Chambers (421 Main St) on May 3, 5 & 13 from 7 - 9 pm to meet the candidates, hear local media questions, and ask questions of your own!

Monday, May 3: Candidates for the Butte County Board of Supervisors, District 2-Jane Dolan and Larry Wahl; and District 3-Maureen Kirk and Erny Spears

Wednesday, May 5: statement by candidates for US Congress-Pete Stiglich with Jim Reed; and forums for State Senate, District 2-Rick Keene and Doug LaMalfa with a statement by Lathe Gill; and State Assembly, District 3-Christina Billeci and Mickey Harrington

Thursday, May 13: candidates for Butte County District Attorney-Mike Ramsey and Lance Daniel, followed by analysis of statewide Propositions by Professor Charley Turner.

 

LWV Member Business Meeting

Tuesday, May 18, 6-8 pm at the First Baptist Church, 850 Palmetto Ave in Chico.

We've got an amazing slate of Board nominees for our voting members to consider on May 18th, as well as some hot topics for possible Study in the coming League year.

And we need you to help meet that all-important "quorum" in order to vote in our new Board and to create an interesting program for our League members and community!

As always, 6 pm Potluck with the Business Meeting beginning at 6:30 pm.

If you would like to ride share with a Board member to any League event, please call Sharon at 342-0910 to make arrangements.

Important Dates for the June 2010 Election

April 9-May 24 Overseas voter registration period.
May 10 - Vote-by-mail ballots mailed.
May 24 - Last day to register to vote.
May 25-June 1 New citizen voter registration period.
June 1 - Last day for the county election office to receive your vote-by-mail application. Find your County Election office.
June 8 Last day to request your vote-by-mail ballot in person.
June 8 Election Day (polls open from 7am-8pm).
